Career Change Mentorship for Professionals Over 40

This is not about starting over.
It is about redesigning.

If your career no longer represents who you are today, you probably do not need to throw it all away. You need a method to use everything you have already built in a different way.

Career change mentorship for professionals over 40

A career change that builds on
what you already have

Career Redesign Mentorship is a ten week one-to-one programme for experienced professionals going through a career change. Along the way you apply self-knowledge, design thinking and prototyping to your own trajectory: you understand what you have built, find out what actually needs to change, test real paths with people in the market, and finish with a plan you validated yourself.

The problem is not a lack of clarity.
It is a lack of evidence.

You have reflected. You have read, taken the tests, talked it through with people close to you. And still, when it comes to deciding, it all feels like a bet.

  • You have several possible ideas and none of them properly tested
  • You know what you would like to do, but not whether anyone would pay for it
  • You are afraid of making a big decision based on intuition alone
  • You have been through processes that ended in reflection, not in a plan
  • You do not want to quit first and only then find out whether it works
  • You need someone alongside you, not more content to consume

Reflecting on your own does not become direction. Evidence does.

Do you recognise yourself
in any of these?

For professionals with a built trajectory, in technology, management, innovation and related fields. Focused on 40+, without excluding anyone living the same moment at another age.

You are employed and want to
  • Get off autopilot without putting everything at risk
  • Find out whether there is a path beyond your current role
  • Test consulting or mentoring work before deciding
  • Redesign your role from inside the company
  • Have a clear criterion for when it is time to leave
You are already independent and want to
  • Stop taking on whatever project comes along
  • Define a position that supports higher pricing
  • Turn your experience into a product or a programme
  • Validate a new line of work before investing in it
  • Build predictability instead of living off referrals

Redesigning is not
switching careers

In many cases the next chapter happens within the same field. What changes is not your expertise. It is the model through which you put it into the world.

You do not need to become someone else. You need to use what you know in a different way.

Route 1

Redesign from within

Stay employed and change the role, the scope or the problems you solve. Without changing field and without changing company.

What it usually looks likeTaking on a new area, moving into an architecture or strategy role, or redesigning your own position.
Route 2

Build alongside

Keep the job and develop your own line of work alongside it, with controlled time and risk, until it can stand on its own.

What it usually looks likeFirst consulting clients on weekends, one paid mentoring client a month, a product tested with a handful of people.
Route 3

Change the model

Stay in the field you know, but stop selling hours of work and start selling knowledge, method or outcome.

What it usually looks likeConsulting, mentoring, advisory work, training or a business in the field where you are already a reference.

The route is chosen in week 8, never before. After you have tested the paths with real people and have evidence on the table. Deciding this in week one would mean choosing without data, which is exactly the mistake the method exists to prevent.

Experienced professional facing new career paths

It all starts with self-knowledge

Before week one you complete the Personal Map: an Enneagram-based assessment with a three hour one-to-one debrief. This is not extra content. It is the foundation everything else is built on.

Enneagram profile

Your core motivation, your structuring fear and the two patterns that most sabotage your professional decisions.

Wheel of Life

Where your career genuinely pinches and where it holds you up. Which area is asking for change and which one needs protecting.

Three hour debrief

The result is not emailed to you. It is opened and worked through live, with you, before the programme begins.

Why this comes first and not halfway through. A Type 5 and a Type 3 get stuck at different points, for opposite reasons, and need different interventions. Someone who over-researches needs a deadline. Someone who rushes needs a brake. Without that lens from day one, the mentor only discovers your pattern in week six, when half the process is already gone.

Open twice.
Then narrow twice.

The process follows the Double Diamond, the design thinking model from the British Design Council. First you understand the problem. Only then do you look for the solution. And each stage has a moment to expand and a moment to narrow.

Week 0 Personal Map EXPAND NARROW EXPAND NARROW the problem the solution Legacy everything you have built Diagnosis the real cause of the dissatisfaction Prototype paths tested in the real market Product your offer and your plan Weeks 1 and 2 Week 3 Weeks 4 to 7 Weeks 8 to 10

Why this matters. Most people skip the entire first diamond and go straight to looking for solutions to a problem that was never defined. That is why they change jobs and feel the same thing six months later. Here you only start looking for paths after you know exactly what needs to change.

Five steps, in the right order

The Redesign Ladder. Each step answers one question and ends with a document in your hands. You always know where you are.

Legacy

What have you already built?

A picture of your real assets: problems you know how to solve, decisions you know how to make, your network and your scars.

Diagnosis

What actually needs to change?

Your values read through the decisions you have made. Where the dissatisfaction actually lives.

Prototype

Which path survives the real world?

Two experiments run with real people. Four weeks to generate evidence, not opinion.

Product

How does this become your next offer?

Model, audience and pricing defined from what you heard in the field. Plus the criterion that tells you when to move.

Platform

How do you sustain this on your own?

How to show up, at what pace and for whom. A plan for the coming months with a review already booked.

Business model innovation,
applied to your career

None of this was invented from scratch. The method combines established tools from self-knowledge, product design and innovation, adapted to the redesign of a professional trajectory.

Enneagram

The typology system most widely used in leadership development. Here it personalises how each stage is run.

British Design Council

Double Diamond

The design thinking model that separates defining the problem from searching for the solution. It is the architecture of the process.

Herminia Ibarra · London Business School

Working Identity

The research showing that professional identity is discovered by testing, not by planning. The basis of the Prototype step.

Michigan and Yale

Job Crafting

An academically evidenced methodology for redesigning your own job from within, without changing employer.

Alex Osterwalder

Business Model You

The business model canvas applied to a person. Except here it comes after validation, not before.

Software engineering

The strangler fig pattern

How you modernise a system that cannot stop running: one part at a time, with real traffic. Exactly like a career.

None of these is a module in the programme. They are the foundations the method was built on, absorbed into a single language so you do not have to study theory. You use the tools. I take care of the method.

From doubt to a well-founded decision

In ten weeks you do not leave with insights. You leave with material you produced yourself and can act on.

1

A clear picture of everything you have built and which of it still has market value

2

An honest diagnosis of what to keep, what to change and what can already be left behind

3

Two paths tested with real people in the market, not with assumptions

4

A concrete offer, with audience and pricing defined, anchored in what you heard

5

A plan for the coming months and the objective criterion that tells you when to take the next step

Change on your own
or change with a method

Anyone can change career on their own. The question is how much time and how much money it costs.

On your own

Deciding in the dark

  • You reflect, but never test with the market
  • You pick a path out of desire, not out of evidence
  • You find out whether it works after you have already quit
  • You get generic advice that would fit anyone
  • You end up with scattered notes and no plan
With the mentorship

Deciding with evidence

  • Four weeks dedicated to testing hypotheses in the real market
  • Every path validated before any final decision
  • A numeric criterion defines when it is safe to move
  • Guidance personalised to your Enneagram profile
  • A complete dossier you take with you and keep using afterwards

Founding cohort

The programme is one-to-one, so the number of places is limited by the real capacity to guide each person properly across ten weeks. Anyone joining now joins at founding terms.

  • Full Personal Map, with a three hour one-to-one debrief
  • Eight live one-to-one sessions across ten weeks
  • Check-ins during the fieldwork weeks

Start my career redesign

Starts with a 30 minute diagnostic conversation, no obligation.

The risk is mine, not yours.

If you do your part and the programme still does not deliver what it promises, you get the full investment back.

Until week 4

You have until the end of week four to request a full refund.

No bureaucracy

A written request is enough. No small print.

Mutual commitment

The guarantee applies to anyone who completed the exercises for each step.

No pressure

If it does not make sense for you in the first conversation, I will say so myself.

This condition works both ways. The result depends on real work, and the guarantee makes that explicit for both of us.

Before you start

No. The focus on 40+ reflects the group that most often lives this inflection point, when change involves responsibilities, identity and many years of trajectory. Anyone facing the same need at another age benefits just as much.
You do not need to believe in anything. The Enneagram is used here as a tool for reading patterns, the same way many companies use it in leadership development. It does not define who you are. It anticipates where you are likely to get stuck, which makes the guidance far more precise.
No, and the method exists precisely to avoid that premature decision. Many participants stay employed and use their current job as the laboratory. If leaving does happen, it happens against a defined criterion, not on impulse.
No. Coaching works with questions and internal clarity. Here there is a method with five steps, a required document at each one and validation in the real market. You finish with concrete material, not with insights.
Two to three hours, plus the live session. The fieldwork weeks are the most demanding, because they depend on you managing to book conversations. They are also the weeks that most determine the outcome.
No. The platform is guided and you simply answer questions. The AI organises and connects what you write, and the result is opened and worked through together in the session. It never decides anything for you.
No, and that would not be a responsible promise. The goal is to move from a vague sense of dissatisfaction to a clear understanding of your possible paths, tested in the market. The decision remains yours, but you make it with information.
That is a legitimate result, and one of the most valuable. Finding out in week seven that a hypothesis does not hold costs ten weeks. Finding out after leaving your job costs years. In that case you adjust the route or move to the second path on your list.
Yes, and you start at an advantage. Career Copilot organises your trajectory and your options on your own. The mentorship begins where it ends: testing those options with real people and turning the result into a decision and a plan.
Honestly. This is the founding cohort of this structure, so I do not present testimonials or numbers that do not exist yet. What does exist is a method built on more than twenty years of experience, the Personal Map already in use with real clients, and a commitment to work closely with everyone who joins now. The founding terms reflect exactly that.

You have thought about it enough.
Now it is time to test.

Thirty minutes is enough to know whether this makes sense for where you are. No obligation and no sales pitch: if I think it is not for you, I will say so on the call.
